Itsuo Art Museum
Experience the art that Kobayashi Ichizo loved so much!
The former residence of Kobayashi Ichizo, founder of the Hankyu Railway, was used to display his collection of artwork, however in commemoration of 50 years since it's opening, a new art gallery was constructed and opened in Autumn 2009.
As Itsuo the Master of Tea Ceremony, Kobayashi Ichizo collected many items for use in tea ceremony ranging from porcelain to calligraphy. In particular his collection of artwork by Buson and Goshun is famous. The Itsuo Art Museum focuses on introducing Itsuo's collection, including many artworks classified as important cultural property. You can also enjoy talks and musical performances held at Magnolia Hall which is annexed to the main Art Museum.
