The Ikeda City Museum of History and Folklore has been introducing Ikeda's rich history and culture since its opening in 1980.
Throughout the year the permanent exhibit, temporary exhibits (changed 4 times a year), and special exhibit (opened every Autumn) are held at the museum. You can view a wide range of artifacts originating from the region around Ikeda including archeological, historical, art and folklore related items. We look forward to your visit.
*Main Collection: Ikeda Chausuyama Kofun (burial mound) archeological artifacts from the Inagawa river basin, archeological artifacts from the Gosando Kofun (burial mound), archeological artifacts from the Ikeda castle ruins site that was used by citizens and the Ikeda family during the middle ages and so on. Historical artifacts related to Ikeda city, such as ancient manuscripts, japanese-style bound books and calligraphy, etc.
